More About Emily

Growing alongside my community at UW-Madison

During my time at UW-Madison, I immersed myself in the vibrant community. Whether I was cheering on the men's and women's hockey teams, participating in business bootcamps at the Wisconsin School of Business, or fostering collaborations between the Madison Journal of Literary Criticism (MJLC) and other student organizations, I found joy in connecting with each person I met across our diverse campus.

Embracing authenticity

My experiences in marketing classes and internships have solidified my belief in the power of authenticity. From crafting compelling ad messages to cultivating meaningful partnerships, I've learned honesty and integrity are key to resonating with others. As I begin my professional journey, I seek to uphold this core value, and I expect the same from those I work with.

And of course, what would marketing be without empathy. I see myself as “considerately creative.” I am a storyteller, whether that be through fiction or graphic design, and I seek to tell each story with care. I look to center my audiences as I create and share specific feelings or ideas. Without being able to put oneself in someone else’s shoes, you cannot help or inspire them. You need to connect and grow together.

Thriving on feedback

In my English classes, I delved into literary classics and honed my ability to analyze our world through the media we consume. Feedback also became my ally in creative writing workshops, where facing critique was both daunting and rewarding. Embracing criticism, and learning to identify what’s constructive, has made me resilient and adaptable in my approach to work, fueling my continuous growth.

Ready to bring value and fun to my career

As I look ahead to my future career, I aim to infuse creativity, passion, and a sense of determination into every endeavor. With a unique blend of business acumen, artistic flair, and a love for sports and community, I am determined to make a lasting impact on the world of design and marketing.
