The following project, Blossom Applesauce, consisted of creating a brand identity for the professor's homemade applesauce, originally made to be a baby food. We were required to name the product, identify our target audience, and develop a creative brief in order to finally create a logo and package design for the product. After a week and a half of honing the creative brief and researching competitors, target markets, and industry conventions, I created the below logo and packaging. The biggest challenge I had was choosing what design style felt best for which markets I chose to design for as set to be sold in the "Driftless Region" of Wisconsin, where all of its ingredients were sourced from. The "apple blossom" logo design was kept simple to reflect the simplicity of those healthy, local ingredients. It's packaging, a label for glass pre-portioned jars printed on recycled paper, is meant to highlight ease of use and sustainability of a recyclable or reusable container.

STORYSTART
This project, completed for LSC332: Print & Electronic Media Design, was to develop a magazine concept and a 6-7 page final product for presentation. I created STORYSTART, a quarterly literary fiction magazine, drawing from my own interests. STORYSTART's mission is to highlight the work of writers under 25 years of age and encourage the practice of writing by offering a platform to young creativity. Young writers are encourage to submit works under one edition-exclusive theme in order to get their start in having personal pieces published.
βIn the final product, I created a cover page, including a masthead that would be on all editions, a table of contents, and two 2 page spreads, which utilize my own writing. The sample magazine then concludes with a back page advertisement for The Two-Headed Goat, a fictional bed & breakfast I created and designed a branding package for in a previous project.
